Gum Ridge Mill Walls

Wall boards at Gum Ridge Mill are custom run, 3/4 inch thick, T&G, for the shiplap look.

  1. Reclaimed Wood Species: Poplar (gray-board or brown-board),Oak, American Chestnut, White Pine, Yellow Pine and Heart Pine.
  2. New Wood Species: Typically Poplar and White Pine.  Other woods are available based on client specs.
  3. Board Width: Milled on the inch either random (4 - 12 inches) or fixed width. Specified widths are an option.
  4. Face: Original (with saw marks and character), Milled (smooth), or Hit-and-Miss. Original Face is typically brushed and/or lightly sanded to soften the texture.
  5. T&G Options: tight joint, 1/16 inch gap, V-groove.
  6. Other: boards may also be straight-lined (S3S or S4S), without the T&G.

This clear (no knots) poplar wall paneling was custom sawed from the log and custom milled.  The planks are 9 inches wide, 3/4 inch thick, tongue & groove (T&G), with 1/16 inch custom gap between the boards for the classic shiplap look.

This clear (no knots) poplar wall paneling was custom sawed from the log and custom milled.  The planks are 9 inches wide, 3/4 inch thick, tongue & groove (T&G), with 1/16 inch custom gap between the boards for the classic shiplap look.  Rather than paint, the paneling is finished with Waterlox Satin Finish.

This white pine wall paneling was custom sawed from the log and custom milled, to maintain the gang rip/circular sawn face.  The planks are 7 inches wide, 3/4 inch thick, tongue & groove (T&G), with 1/16 inch custom gap between the boards for the classic shiplap look.

The walls of this bunk room (along with bunks) are clad in wide plank, reclaimed poplar (mix of gray-board and brown-board) for a rustic shiplap look.
